Long Shadow

Saturday, June 1, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, The Long Shadow, adocumentary on the roots of racism and the shameful legacy of slavery. The Long Shadow follows two white Southern filmmakers from New Orleans to Virginia, Mississippi and Canada, as they travel the roads of oppression and suppression to reveal the connections of slavery and strong-arm Southern politics to the current racial strife in America.  The film is a story about the lingering human cost of ignorance, intolerance and inaction in the US, casting a long shadow over our national identity and imperfect democracy.. Monterey Peace and Justice Center, 1364 Fremont Blvd., Seaside.  Free Admission.  The public is invited.
