Alice Huffman, NAACP State President notified the Monterey County Branch NAACP that its peers had selected the Branch to receive “The Claude Hudson Award”, to be presented on October 26, 2012 at the California-Hawaii 25th State Convention Luncheon.

The Claude Hudson Award is presented to the Branch that demonstrates the NAACP standards by speaking out on issues as well as focused programs within the six point National Plan.  Claude Hudson was a prominent businessman and advocate for civil rights.  He helped integrate Los Angeles beaches in the early 1920′s and served as President of the Los Angeles Branch from 1949-1972.
